Common Questions

EchoBag uses your trip details — destination, dates, trip type, travel mode, and packing style — to generate a personalized list. It also pulls live weather forecasts for your destination so items like umbrellas, sunscreen, or warm layers are added automatically based on what the weather will actually be.
Yes. You can use EchoBag as a guest without creating an account. Your trips will be saved locally on your device. If you sign up, your data syncs across devices and you get access to trip sharing features.
From any trip detail page, tap "Share Trip" and enter the email address of who you want to share with. They'll receive an invite link. Once accepted, they can view the packing list alongside you. Sharing requires an account.
Forecasts are only available within 16 days of your departure date. If your trip is further out, the forecast card will show a placeholder and update automatically as you get closer. If you see an error for a near-future trip, try closing and reopening the app — this usually resolves a temporary connection issue.
To delete your account and all associated data, email us at echobag.app@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete My Account" from the email address associated with your account. We'll process the request within 7 business days.
Absolutely. Your packing list is fully editable. You can add new items, delete items, change categories, reassign items to different bags, and regenerate the entire list at any time from the trip detail page.
Smart Alerts are proactive tips EchoBag surfaces based on your trip. They check for things like missing passport on international trips, essential items still unpacked close to departure, weather gear you haven't added, and more. You can dismiss any alert and it won't reappear.

Privacy & Data

What we collect: When you create an account, we store your email address and the trip and packing data you create in the app. Guest users' data is stored only on their device.

What we don't do: We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties. We do not use it for advertising.

Weather data: Your destination name is sent to Open-Meteo, a free weather service, to fetch forecasts. No personal information is included in these requests.

Account deletion: Email echobag.app@gmail.com to request full deletion of your account and data.
